The Prometheus Real Estate Group is hosting a community meeting to discuss the 575 Benton Development Proposal. This was formerly the Irvine Company Mission Town Center project.
The development consists of 355 luxury rental apartments and approximately 22,000 square feet of retail on the approximately 5.8 acre property.
This proposal is asking for 37 more units from the 318 that was approved last March when The Irvine Company was considering developing the parcel. This proposal is asking to allow the purchase of two streets, Fremont and Sherman, causing more of the original grid to be lost (Streets in Yellow). Prometheus is the current owner of the Park Central a residential development that currently covers part of Franklin and Washington (Streets in Red). The Franklin and Washington streets where Park Central currently resides are key pieces to the downtown development and this is a prime opportunity to negotiate with the developer to work out a property swap between the developer and the city. This is a very important project for the downtown area. This will be the 2nd and largest development in the downtown area in almost 30 years, and will be a crucial development in the overall plan on how the downtown area will be developed. Please come to support your community in making sure Santa Clara is developed in the best way possible for the residents.
