Meet at Hungry Hound (1000 Lafayette St)
Perhaps no street within the city of Santa Clara is more important than Franklin Street. As part of the original city grid laid out in 1847, it has not changed location in over 150 years. Shops, businesses, a trolley system, and residences depended on this roadway, and the town of Santa Clara literally grew up around it.
SCU will be guiding the OQRA through an archaeological resource tour of the original trolley tracks recently uncovered on Franklin Street. Take a last look before the trolley tracks are covered up again to create the new Franklin Street Mall.
