Loved the idea of a photo contest---the only problem is just picking one photo!
My family moved to the old Quad in 1973 and I still live there. Loved walking down Washington Street to St. Clare’s every morning— all the old architecture especially the turrets.
I was a pre-internet baby so the Library was my addiction—now it’s my iPhone.
On my way home from school I would stop by the mission library (the first Park in old Downtown), cut through Franklin Mall, stop in at the Stationery store for supplies then Wilson’s before heading home--bumped into a lot of neighbors along the way. :)
So many beautiful places from the Historic Railroad Depot (since I was a kid the idea of travel by train has intrigued me) to the Morse Mansion to the serenity of the Carmelites (Jack London was also favorite childhood author)...but the Library is still my place for inspiration to this day. I am very happy that they are renovating the Library. Will be attending the meeting tonight to check on its progress. Lots to be proud of in our Old Santa Clara.

This is the where I started my yoga studio (Jiaren Yoga Studio). I spend tons of time here to know the people and businesses locally, and at the same time, I fall in love with this place.

Sign says it all. Thankful for all my neighbors who have been there for me and each other. Loving our neighbors is a wonderful way to live.
